Smiles of Amare: Esther Rea, Travel OR RN

Inspired by the nurses who cared for her as a child, Esther has always felt a strong desire to share the same compassion with others.

Despite working as a Registered Nurse for 5 years, Esther Rea has always had a passion for caring that goes back much further. Inspired by the nurses who cared for her as a child, Esther has always felt a strong desire to share the same compassion with others.

“I have always said that smiles are contagious, and just taking the time to care and smile at your patient can make them feel at ease and spread joy,” said Esther.

A specific patient comes to Esther’s mind when she thinks about smile-worthy care – one who needed Esther and her colleagues to fight for his life every day. Witnessing the positive impact her care had on her patient’s recovery, especially the return to his family, fueled Esther’s passion and helped shape her into the nurse she is today.

Her passion continues to shine through as she provides care before, during, and after surgeries as a travel operating room nurse. Esther makes a point of showing each patient how much she cares, offering comfort during challenging and vulnerable times.

While Esther thrives as a travel nurse now, it wasn’t initially a career path she seriously considered. It was only after a recommendation from a fellow traveler at Amare Medical Network that she decided to explore her opportunities. Now, with a newfound sense of adventure ignited in her, a true gypsy at heart, Esther embraces the travel lifestyle. The flexibility and adventure of travel nursing has allowed Esther to explore new places while still utilizing her skills and building valuable connections in the industry.

This Nurses Week, we join the chorus of appreciation and thank Esther Rea and all the incredible nurses out there for their unwavering dedication and compassionate care. Happy Nurses Week – you are all truly appreciated! You Make the Difference.
