At Amare Medical Network, we’re proud to celebrate the heart and dedication of nurses like Brittanie Day.

Brittanie’s journey into nursing started with a powerful influence—her mother, also a nurse. Watching her mom care for others sparked Brittanie’s own passion to make a difference. “I worked as a personal care aide first,” she shared. “Helping others inspired me to keep going and become a nurse.”

Though her first shift as a nurse was nerve-wracking, a supportive preceptor made all the difference—someone she still keeps in touch with to this day. And it’s clear Brittanie’s impact on her patients runs deep. One moment she’ll never forget is when the daughter of a woman with dementia reached out years later to say her mother, in her final moments, remembered Brittanie’s name. Brittanie was able to be there and say goodbye. “That moment was the most rewarding,” she said. “The family was so appreciative.”

Her biggest lesson? “Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.” She wants others to know that nursing is more than a job—it’s a calling. “It’s not just about the money. It’s about truly caring for others.”

When days get hard, Brittanie reminds herself of her purpose: “I take a deep breath and think about how I’m helping others.” And to those just beginning their journey, her advice is simple but powerful: Take a deep breath.
