Smiles of Amare: Ola Saka, Direct Support Professional

This month, the Employee Spotlight shines on a Direct Support Professional who has shown dedication, commitment, and true passion for helping others. Ola Saka has been a consistent team player of Amare’s Health and Human Services division since 2016, and someone who Account Manager, Brandy Scott, can always count on! “Ola has consistently worked forty plus hours a week. He is extremely flexible and will work any shift at a moment’s notice,” Brandi says. Not only is Ola reliable, he is simply a great person to work with, radiating our core values inside and out! “Ola is a very kind individual who represents all of our core values,” Brandi says.

Ola grew up in Lagos, Nigeria in Africa, where he graduated from Yaba College of Technology in 1987 with his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration. Since emigrating to the United States, he has worked in a variety of roles, including restaurant management and hotel hospitality, before finding his calling in healthcare, where he has remained for the last 13 years! 

“My experience working with Amare Medical Network is simply AWESOME, giving me the opportunity to work in multiple locations!” Ola says. What makes him love working in the Health and Human Services field so much is getting to make a positive impact and build relationships with his clients.  “I have a knack for hospitality,” Ola says. “I believe I’m best at making my clients contented.” He shows his passion for compassion when caring for his clients, and also shows that happiness is healing when celebrating the small victories! “I’m most excited when my goals are achieved, every time I notice some little smiles,” he says.

Ola also shows his passion and purpose when he’s off the clock by volunteering with disaster victims. During his free time, he enjoys traveling, watching movies, spending time with his children and friends, and watching sports, specifically the Pittsburgh Penguins and favorite player Sidney Crosby! He also likes to unwind simply by doing nothing at all. “When I don’t work, I love to have some quiet moments and get some rest, particularly on weekends or a Sunday afternoon,” he says.

When asked what Ola thinks his colleagues would say about him, he says “I am an excellent team worker.” We couldn’t agree more! We are so grateful for the hard work and dedication Ola has exhibited throughout his time with us, and we hope to have him in the Amare Family for many years to come!
