Smiles of Amare: Jennifer English, LPN

“My favorite part of being a nurse is showing compassion and understanding when someone feels hopeless or in pain.”

Jennifer English has been a nurse for 28 years, and she continues to find meaning and purpose in what she does.

“My favorite part of being a nurse is showing compassion and understanding when someone feels hopeless or in pain,” Jennifer said.

Personal experiences put her on this career path.

“I decided to be a nurse after caring for my grandmother and watching my aunt, who is also a nurse, care for others with grace,” she said.

Jennifer began working with Amare 18 months ago after an Amare nurse she was working with recommended it.

“I had always been curious about agency nursing, and she answered all my questions with enthusiasm and professionalism,” Jennifer said.

Recently, Jennifer received Amare’s Core Values Ambassador Award. Each quarter, Amare recruiters nominate care providers for the award.

“She is an Amare champion in my book,” said Jennifer’s recruiter, Natasha Cook. “She has been working with Kane Scott for months, and they have really come to appreciate her at the facility. Everyone there speaks very well of her.”

“The best part of working for Amare is definitely Natasha. She is always upbeat and responsive,” Jennifer said. She plans to continue working with Natasha and Amare.

“Amare is different because I feel appreciated and heard.”
