Amare Team Provides Comfort for Veterans in Need

A total of 52 blankets, 25 of them handmade by Amare staff, and hand warmers were donated to Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard.

In recognition of Veterans Day, the Amare Medical Network team recently gathered to make tie blankets for Pittsburgh-area veterans. Each blanket was secured with a ribbon and a tag that shared a special message, “Our country is filled with promises for tomorrow because our history is shaped by heroes like you.”

A total of 52 blankets, 25 of them handmade by Amare staff, and hand warmers were donated to Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, an organization that empowers veterans’ transition from homeless to home, ending the cycle of homelessness and assisting all at-risk veterans to become engaged, valuable citizens who contribute to their communities.

Breanna Miller, Senior Human Resources Generalist, Hannah Dudash, Social & Digital Content Manager and Kacie Brandenburg, Allied Recruiter, visited Veterans Place to deliver the donation and meet with their staff.

“Going to Veterans Place was such a great experience. To see how grateful they were for the blankets we made was heartwarming. I’m happy we got to give some warmth to these Veterans especially going into the winter season, and hope we can do it again,” Brandenburg said.

Maria Mongelluzzo, Development Manager, Veterans Place expressed, “It was a pleasure meeting your team! Thank you for the beautiful blankets and hand warmers for our veterans! Thank you again for supporting Veterans Place!”
