Care Provider Spotlight: Cassandra Campbell, Rad Tech

Cassandra lives Amare’s mission of delivering care worthy of a million smiles daily at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Cassandra Campbell has been a radiology technologist for more than five years, and she began traveling with Amare a few months ago. It’s her first travel contract.

“A friend of mine had recently started traveling,” Cassandra said. “I found my way to Amare through her and then found my way to my recruiter Haley, who has been absolutely wonderful!”

“With X-ray, we’re usually the bad guys, especially if there is an injury,” she said. “If I am able to make you smile by being an ear to listen or by being silly or joking around, I will definitely try my best to make light of every situation.”

Cassandra loves her career because no day is the same.

“I love the excitement of it. You never know what you are going to get to see. Every patient is different.”

Her interest in radiology began as a child.

“I was a very sporty and clumsy kid and was constantly in the ER or doctor’s office for ankle and knee injuries,” Cassandra said. “After high school, I still had that interest, and I bounced around from X-ray to nursing school and back to X-ray, and the rest is history.”

In the future, she would like to travel farther from home so that she can continue learning.

“I would love to see what other healthcare facilities around the US have to offer. I’m always ready to learn new things,” she said.

For now, Cassandra is happy with her first contract and happy with Amare.

“It’s refreshing to have a company go all out for you,” she said.  “The focus is on you and finding the best for you.”
